Now I have come to that time in life when the world looks at me in the eyes ands says those famous words "What would you like to do?" They mean to be nice but when you have no answers you begin to dread the moment, for it does not happen just once but over and over day after day till every one who has ever met (and is over the age of 24) has said those words. So I begin to think of what I would like to do, and think, and think. One of my friends said I should say I want to be a pirate, or something like that, until I find what I want to do. But anyhow I have been thinking it over a lot as of late. I never really thought I would have to deicide the answer would be right there for me and all the world to see. Well now I thought I would share with you some things I have come up with. (These are in the order they come to mind not of most appealing)
- A Nun, yes a nun but there is a big problem with that I'm not Catholic
- A Nanny in Switzerland, I like working with kids and Switzerland would be pretty.
- A Spy, There are quiet a few things wrong here one is I couldn't lie
- A Gypsy, traveling the land in a big painted wagon with ribbons in my hair.
- A Traveling Story Teller, I would get paid to go from here to there telling stories
- Children’s Theater, sounds like fun, but I've never really acted before
So that’s my list for now at lest, well if you think of any thing let me know. How can someone sum up what they want to do in their life with a job?

Sweet. I'll admit that a career in filmmaking looks kind of boring next to these choices. Let me know if you become a Gypsy or Traveling Storyteller, I would like to join you in those ventures especially.
Keep up the good work, I think that this is your best post.
Oh! I always wanted to be a Gypsy! Except I would want to travel in a painted VW van! Of course, I am going to be an artist. But then, I would still be an artist no matter what I 'do', so who knows, the possibilities are endless! God knows, though, and we can trust that He knows!
You could be a nanny in Tennesse?!
I concur! This is a great post...
I was a gypsy for Halloween once (lots of scarves, flowing skirt, and big earrings). And a gypsy in a VW van sounds like a hippie to me... La Vie Boheme!!! But then working here in P-town at the bank I encountered many actual Gypsies and lets just say the exotic mystic quickly dissipated! I don't know that this is one to aspire too... They aren’t typically very honest people and you are.
But seriously, not a lot of people know what they want to do really. They usually just pick something and go for it. My brother has one degree and is going back for a different one because he changed his mind! Our friend Erin still has a hard time picking a direction for continued schooling. Foolish Knight is very lucky to have so clear an idea of what he'd like to do. There is some truth to that annoying saying “its easier to steer a moving car than a stopped one”. So just move forward one step at a time, nd trust God to direct your path. I still am not always sure what to do next in my life. It never ends unfortunately.
I hope I didn't depress you! God is faithful, and its always exciting to see where he leads us on our next journey. I think he likes it this way because it means we have to depend on him for every move we make. Our faith grows in these places.
Who me? A bohemian hippie? Never!(Cough, cough)
Ok,Maybe a little.
So I thought some more about it and I remember the fabulous librarian at my elementary school used to do story time. I loved it! You could do that too...
I found a fun quiz online that's a career quiz... http://similarminds.com/cgi-bin/career5.pl You should take it and see what you get. My results were sadly (because they aren't very exciting) accurate:
You are an Executive, possible professions include - program designer, attorney, administrator, office manager, chemical engineer, sales manager, logistics consultant, franchise owner, new business developer, personnel manager, investment banker, labor relations, management trainer, credit investigator, mortgage broker, corporate team trainer, environmental engineer, biomedical engineer, business consultant, educational consultant, personal financial planner, network integration specialist, media planner/buyer.
Wow! What a list. Gypsy, that sounds cool, though, like the good knight said, traveling story teller could give it a run for its money!
I've never been a gypsy thank God. I think you should be a travelling storyteller, I cried the last time you told Meiska the story about whatever it was. That, I think, is your gift.
Did you really? I didn't even know you were listening.
Don't lie Lukolas, that was MY story you were crying at. Sheesh.
Those are great Midsummer. If these are things you've wanted to be all your life I would feel out a little of place. Things that I've wanted to be would include a veterinarian and firefighter, but now I just want to be what God wants me to be. I know God will never us astray so we would do good just to follow in His footsteps.
Merry Christmas!
OK, I'm a liar, I confess, Midsummer. I wasn't really crying at yours. It was Foolish Knight's I was crying at, and it was the laughing cry ya know.
I was crying too, but it was from pity.
You, precious pretty, will be absolutely wonderful at whatever you do. As one who is so talented and blessed, you will be shining for Christ. I just have to sit back, keep praying and watch God work (I have the easy part).
Oh come on you two! You both KNOW his story had merit (well kinda). We should cut him some slack. No one can tell a story like the great Midsummer. She's a tough act to follow.
