the Pear that Could have been

Ahh! I don’t know if I will ever try to to do another still life again! I’ll tell you what happened. We were given a big bag of beautiful pears. My dad and I were looking at them ( he was trying to choose which one to eat) seeing one he said “Wow! Midsummer ( he didn't really say Midsummer he calls me the name I was given when I was born unlike all those other people who run around calling me Midsummer because they can’t remember what my given name is) you should draw this one, it is perfect” Indeed it was it was a beautiful golden brown and had a inch long stem that had a dark brown leaf on it. Well I was setting up my room to draw this pear that was far beyond any other I put white paper under and behind it so I could see it better, but I was not satisfied with how some of the paper was laying so I picked up the pear to move the paper and that is when it happened I dropped the pear, I thought in my mind “ oh no the pear is falling, it will hit the ground and be damaged in some way, must save the pear!” So I did what cam to mind I caught the pear. You may say I don’t see what the problem is the pear was saved. It would have been saved except I caught it by the leaf!!! And the Leaf tore! So now no longer is there the perfect leaf on the perfect pear.

Oh my! I would be so disappointed if that happened to me. Of course, if it happened to me I would have either drawn it with the torn leaf or with an imagined whole one. I wish I was eating pears with you all!

I'm totally impressed you attempted drawing the perfect pear. This is something I never attempt. I get too impatient and disspointed when things aren't perfect. And I love that your dad encouraged you to draw it. That's why I like him so. :-)

Precious Pretty and poor pear's plight.

Sorry, it was the masterpiece that could have been.

What if pears grew on vines?

I think I'd eat more fruit if it was sparkly.

(smile) thanks for not forgetting. I did end up drawing the pear. I thought I might "put it up" on MY Old Sketchbook but I think not.

Did you eat the pear? Was it tasty?

Yes I did, a few days later, it was fine, it would have been better if I didn't know it was a ruined master pieces who did not get to complete all it was meant to do in this world.
